Addi's birthday party at Explora Science Museum

Addi loves science so we had her party at the Explora Science Museum in Albuquerque. She had 6 friends and 6 cousins come. We had a blast! We first had cake, made flubber blubber, opened presents and then went. She had a great time.

Working in the yard with Dad

Working in the yard with Dad. We are removing our bark mulch and replacing with rock, adding a concrete sidewalk and extending our patio, putting in a swingset and rubber mulch, making a garden box, adding more plants and trees, taking out grass and leveling, and hopefully adding a patio cover and getting some actual patio furniture instead of my free garage sale finds. So if any of you reading this are bored this spring/summer we have work available for room and board:) The kids love working outside and jump at any chance to do so. Working inside, well that is a whole different story.

London's graduation

This is how our tramp looks now after some crazy winds. The winds folded our tramp like a taco while Chadd was in Roswell. Thankfully we have great neighbors who came and took our tramp apart so it didn't break further and break the house behind us. We are bummed, we've only had it for 5 months.

Asher getting down to Andy Williams. Sweet! Sorry I didn't realize I can't turn my camera to the side and have it turn right side up when I put it on the computer. Just crank your head to the side and enjoy.:)

This is just another video of the songs that London's class sang at our mother's day program. She had her last day of school today, I don't know what she's going to do with herself now, especially without Alex in her life (the boy right next to her in this video:)

This is London's preschool class singing to us for mother's day. cute! That's Asher in the background.

Addison's baptism on April 12, 2008

This was a great day, except for the fact that I had to give the baptism talk at my first daughter's baptism. Man I cried too much! But, it was great and it was so nice to have family come from out of town (15 people in our home was awesome!) and have friends come support. It was a very special day for Addi and us.

Trapping cats is much easier than herding cats.

Addi came upstairs today upset because London had determined that she was the sole possesor of all good ideas and Addi's ideas were stupid. So, I had to ask, after reassuring Addi that London was mistaken, "What idea is London calling stupid?" Addi responded, "Remember that stray cat that keeps coming in the back yard? I wanted to catch it so I was building a trap and London says it won't work."

So, I had to go and take a look at Addi's cat trap. She had the basics down: yarn for bait cause cats like yarn, a tote for a trap and a cardboard box to hide behind so the cat wouldn't see them, and with a few refining pointers from her old man these were the finished products.

I then gave them some pointers on trapping:

  1. Trapping takes a long time because of the "people smell" on the traps. Be prepared to sit out here for quite a while till the wind blows the scent away.

  2. Cats are smart and have really good eyes. If you move they will see you and run away, so no hitting each other while you wait.

  3. Cats are smart and have really good ears. If you make noise they will hear you and run away so don't call each other names while your waiting.

  4. Make the strings long enough that you can sit in the shade because you'll want to be comfortable while you wait out here for so long.

Then I went inside to take a nap.

London came upstairs half-an-hour later to inform us that "my trap is a piece of junk. It's not as good as Addi's."

Easter 2008

Asher was again dressed up! This time London made him a pirate with one earring. When we told her what a cute pirate he was, she said "No, he is the pirate of love!" See the heart on the earring. We had a good laugh at that and had to take a picture. London sure comes up with the funniest things. Like calling the Stratosphere in Las Vegas the "telleputter". What?! :)

This is Asher at the end of March. I wonder who did this makeover to him?!(darn those sisters, man they wish they could get to their play make-up to really doll him up). He did think the baton was awesome, but not as great as the pink wand with sparkling lights and sounds:)
